Last month, a large retail store in Longmont, CO was vandalized from an arson fire. The damage was so severe that it took 16 SRM employees and 51 laborers to clean up the loss.
The technicians and laborers had to take down, clean, and eradicate odor from each ceiling tile on the sales floor, offices, deli, bakery, prep kitchens, all restaurants, the optical area, and pharmacy. Some areas were so profoundly affected that demolition had to be completed. All shelves, walls, floors, freezers, windows, and carpets were thoroughly cleaned as well as the stores whole HVAC system. The team also power washed all the shopping carts, the store’s sidewalk, and parking lot.
Our team worked through extreme temperatures – some days reaching over 100 degrees – and tight a deadline to complete the cleanup and restoration work on time. They worked quickly and diligently so that the store could restock their shelves and open for business. Specific areas of the facility were open to the public as our team worked. At times over 200 people were shopping in the store at once, while work was being done.
Despite the challenges faced by our SRM team, they were able to complete the job on time and get this store back to pre-loss condition in a little over a week and a half. We understand how important it is to stay open, even when the unexpected happens. Our capabilities and workforce allow us to tackle even the largest of losses while keeping businesses in business.
